Hello, hello sweeties!
Things have taken a chilly turn here the last couple of days (boo), and it seems like it’s been raining almost non-stop; the perfect day for a lovely cup of tea! And with all the grayness out the windows, I figured the kitchen table needed a little cheering up with some color. Time to bring out my new Granny Square Potholder!
Like a lot of yarn-aholics, I have lots of little lengths of yarn in various colors left over from other projects. This pretty potholder was born from my stash of cotton yarn oddments (cotton is just great for kitchen projects, don’t you think?).
I made it by crocheting two, big Granny Squares (the back side square is all red), then I single-crocheted around the edge to attach the two squares. This provides the necessary thickness to make it a good potholder.
Ooooo, prettiness! I do love it, yes indeed-y <3 Colorful, cottony goodness. It looks most happy in it’s new spot on the table.
Do you remember the lovely new cards I mentioned a few days ago? I had a chance to put them to good use today, as a couple of Birthday Cards. Since they are blank other than their pretty front designs, this gave me a good opportunity to test out my new interchangeable stamp set (40% off coupons at Hobby Lobby are a beautiful thing!).
All you have to do is switch out the rubber letters on the clear plastic gripper pads (see the little ridges on the back?) The set comes with two rectangular pads and two circular pads, that way you can have up to four stamp designs made without having to change letters (Martha thinks of everything 😉 ).
Ready to see the finished cards?
