Hello, Sweetings! So glad to see you today!
Through the brain fog that comes from directing two plays at once (I don’t recommend doing this, ha-ha!), I’ve been realizing something: it has finally happened: Spring is really here!
Ohhh, how I long for it every year, when winter seems to drag on forever, and suddenly, BAM! The grass is not brown, but GREEN, the trees aren’t bare, but full of BUDS! The sunlight is bright GOLD, and the sky is brilliant BLUE!
Don’t get me wrong, winter can be quite lovely in her own right. But she is a blank canvas, a crisp, white background to be festooned with Holiday Garlands and Lights and Ornaments. Spring, on the other hand, is the painting, the color, the Van Gough. She has her own ornaments in the budding trees, blooming flowers, and singing birds; no need of help form us.
If you can’t tell, I am a big fan of nature 😉 Maybe it’s because you can draw design inspiration from just about every little thing. If you are ever in a creative slump (and let’s face it, we all are at some time), a lovely walk out doors might be the very best thing you can do for yourself. Really!
What about you? What do you do to help spark your creativity? 🙂
