Last weekend was a busy one for me, dearies! I had the pleasure of going to a local film festival and seeing a documentary about my boss and the arts school I work at. It was so much fun! Definitely not your every day occurrence 😉 I also did some script writing, started an adorable St. Patrick’s Day hat, and did a LOT of cleaning, which leads me to a confession…
…prior to this weekend, we may have possibly still had some of our… *cough* Christmas *cough, cough* decorations up… But hey, things have been crazy, sooooo don’t judge me. 😀
I can now gladly say this is no longer the case! After a day and a half of intense decor-tear-down, we are now tree-free!! And garland free. And faux snow free. And nutcracker free. You get the picture.
Let me tell you, it is NICE to have the house totally de-holidayed (pretty sure I just made that word up). It feels like there is more space to breathe now, and we definitely needed to get things out of the way for spring cleaning. Of course, I haven’t mentioned the best part yet: I got to re-decorate the mantel, woo-hoo!
Yes, I realize that by decorating for St. Patrick’s Day, I have re-holidayed (yep, another new word) the house, but at least it isn’t a winter holiday, which is the main point, right? And I didn’t pursue the theme to aggressively, I just used a lot of green, haha! 😉
I love using branches for decor. You can drape garlands on them, hang ornaments off of them, clip pictures to them; so many options! I love these black LED branches; I got them on sale for just a few dollars at Big Lots 🙂
Alright, that’s all for now, sweeties! I have a real treat coming up for you this weekend: I completed the sweetest little crocheted Baby Leprechaun Hat for St. Patrick’s Day! I am super happy with how it turned out, can’t wait to show you 🙂
