Hello Sweeties! I’ve missed you since my last post, but I’m making up for it with another “Voila”!
Do you ever see a lovely skein of yarn at the store, and instantly know you just have to have it? And then just as quickly, you have a vision of exactly what you want to do with it? That is just how this blanket started; I walked past three ginormous, fuzzy, beautiful balls of Bernat Baby Blanket yarn, and that was it. They were in my hands before I knew what was going on.
This project whipped up so quickly, I barely had a chance to snap a few pictures of it’s creation; one evening I was just starting out, and a night or two later, BAM! It was finished. Just my speed for blanket making <3
Now, having a vision for something is one thing, and actually getting that vision OUT and created is usually another. Not this time! With almost no trial and error, I was able to replicate my idea for this blanket exactly as I imagined it. And can I just say, there is something very satisfying about it! To have an idea, bring it to fruition, and be really happy with the result is just marvelous.
I decided to crochet the blanket (instead of Knitting it) for a couple of reasons: 1) SPEED. For me at least, crocheting blankets is vastly quicker than knitting them, and I love the magic of seeing a project come together pronto! And 2) I had a new, chunky crochet hook I wanted to try out 🙂 hehe…
Alright, I think it’s high time we get to a nice, big, full-blanky pic, don’t you? I knew you’d agree!
Ahhhh! Lovely! Modern! Stripe-y wonderful-ness!
Needless to say, I’m quite happy with this little beauty. I do have to admit something to you, though: I am not quite sure to whom this blanket is going yet, I just knew it had to be made! This blanket’s existence could not be denied!!
That being said, there a couple new additions coming to my immediate and extended family this year, so I’m sure I won’t have trouble finding it a home; I just don’t know which one yet 😉
More baby blankets will be coming soon, so stay tuned!
